The Impact of Social Media on Campus

December 5, 2023 -- The Rotary Club of the Capital City welcomed Eric Johnson, Strategic Communications, University of North Carolina System. Eric spoke to the club about the impact of almost-continuous social media immersion on today's college students. Pervasive social media dominated by paid influence -- a novel phenomenon -- seems to threaten the contructs of critical thinking taught at the university level, especially for contentious issues like the Gaza and Ukraine conflicts.
