The Robert N. Styres Scholarship is awarded annually to a Wake County Public High School graduate to attend a college, university or community college of the student's choice, and is renewable for four years.

Since 2000 the Scholarship has awarded over $270,000 to 29 students. Currently, six recipients are on track to complete four years of college.

While academic achievement is important, the Scholarship is not necessarily intended for a student with a high grade-point average, but rather for a student who may have overcome some adversity along the way.

The Scholarship is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
