Introducing Mrs. Linh Pham
Mrs. Linh Pham is a Community and Capacity Development Manager at the John Rex Endowment. She brings more than 20 years of nonprofit and community service experience shaped by her work with immigrant and refugee communities across North Carolina, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia. As a proud Vietnamese immigrant, her understanding of belonging is grounded in real lived experience. She once dreamed of traveling the world to make a difference, until a mentor reminded her that impact begins at home. That insight echoes Rotary’s belief that global service starts with meaningful work in our own neighborhoods.

Understanding the John Rex Endowment
The John Rex Endowment is a philanthropic foundation dedicated to strengthening organizations that advance racial equity and support the social and emotional well-being of children in Wake County. In her role, Linh partners closely with nonprofit leaders, listening to their insights, learning from their experiences, and helping them build the long-term capacity needed to serve families more effectively. This is not short-term charity, it is sustained investment in people, systems, and community strength.
Rotary embraces a similar philosophy. Our service is built on relationships, shared leadership, and a commitment to strengthening local systems so that communities continue to thrive long after any single project is complete.
John Rex Endowment strengthens organizations. Rotary strengthens communities. Both recognize that supporting the people who serve children is an investment in the future. Both also believe that equity, fairness, and community trust are not extras, but the foundation of lasting wellbeing.

Why We Do What We Do
Linh Pham reminded us that supporting children’s social and emotional health is not theoretical, it requires fairness, collaboration, and a real understanding of what families need. She challenged us to see every project, donation, and volunteer hour as part of a larger support network for children who may never meet us, but will benefit from our work.
Her message reflected Rotary’s values in action. We seek truth by listening to families, fairness by expanding opportunity, goodwill through partnerships like John Rex Endowment, and benefit to all by strengthening the organizations that guide the next generation. Rather than restating our values, Linh revealed why they matter and how they shape a stronger future for our community.
