Each Fall, 140 or so local and regional golfers participate in the Rotary of the Capital City Golf Classic orchestrated at North Ridge Country Club in Raleigh, a Platinum Club of America-rated facility.
Each year the Golf Classic raises over $30,000, and over $350,000 to date, to benefit our Styres Scholarship Fund, which directly supports Wake County students at the post-secondary level.
Established in 2000 by our club, the Styres Scholarship Fund grants a four-year award to a deserving Wake County public high school graduate who has demonstrated need and overcome obstacles, to achieve their fullest potential through higher education.
We invite our Triangle area neighbors and business to participate in our 32nd Annual Rotary Club of the Capital City Golf Classic, a captain’s choice-style golf tournament held on two highly regarded 18-hole golf courses at North Ridge Country Club in Raleigh at 6612 Falls of the Neuse Road.
Since 1989, our club has raised funds through our Capital City Golf Classic to support many service projects and causes. Chief among them is our club’s Styres Scholarship, which provides an annual college scholarship to deserving Wake County public high school graduates who have demonstrated both need and ability to overcome obstacles to achieve their fullest potential. The Styres Scholarship is named in memory of Robert N. Styres, a former member of our club who exemplified the ideals of Rotary throughout his life and was dedicated to serving our community.
